Flo Rida: Carol City Beefs

On the plus side, the feathery helmets hide the players’ identities. Image via preprally.

This, ladies and gents, is the new uniform of the Carol City Chiefs. It was commissioned for the high school football team by former pupil turned musical impresario Flo Rida, who presumably suffered terrible bullying at the hands of the  jocks.

Revenge is best served by forcing your enemy to wear a Native American chief’s face across their Spandex clad crotch, after all.

Orlando Cruz: Pride Of Puerto Rico

Image: J. Meric/Getty Images.

Orlando Cruz has won his first bout since revealing to the world he is gay – the first active boxer to do so.

The featherweight beat Puerto Rican Jorge Pazos in a unanimous decision by judges in Kissimmee, Florida, retaining his WBO Latino Featherweight belt and potentially putting himself in the frame for a world title fight.

A tough enough target at the best of times, we fancy, but his decision to reveal his sexuality can only have heaped more pressure on his career as he now carries the hopes and dreams of gay athletes everywhere. Failure is not an option.

He obviously backs himself to do it. So do we.

Ronaldinho: A Changed Man

Slightly startled. Images: AP Photo/Eugenio Savio, REUTERS/Paulo Whitaker.

Displaying an adaptability to change that would make John Terry proud, Ronaldinho pulled on the jersey of Brazilian Serie A side Atletico Mineiro on Monday, less than a week after he played his last game for Flamengo. The playmaker turned playboy’s contract with Flamengo was wisely terminated by a judge after he sued the club for unpaid wages.

Ronaldinho’s contract with Atletico is for six months, which is presumably the amount of the time the local nightclubs can support his partying before collapsing beneath the strain and begging for mercy.
